History: There are 20 clubs in the Eerste Divisie, who play each other in a double round-robin league, and each club moves from house to house in another club. Each club will play once each club in the first half of the season before the league takes the winter break into Christmas and New Year's holiday season. Although the two halves do not play in the same order, the second half of the season sees the same fixtures as the first half, the stadiums vary.

At the end of each season, the champion of the Eerste Divisie is automatically promoted to Eredivisie. The other eight clubs enter Nacompetti, a promotion/release play-off that includes 16th and 17th ranked clubs in Ardivisi.

Eerste Divisie has had its sixty-third season since its founding in 1955 - the Eerste Divisie was established in 1955 because of sponsorship due to sponsorship. - The 16th and 17th ranked teams from the 19th Eredivisie are also involved.

A total of 20 teams are participating in the league. Fortuna Sittard was promoted to Eredivisie and replaced FC Twenge, who was bottom 2017–18 at Eredivisie. FC Emmen and De Graafchap won the next play-off of the season and replaced Rhoda Jesse and Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie, 2018–19.

At an extraordinary KNVB Federation meeting on June 7, 2018, representatives of amateur and professional football reached an agreement to renew the football pyramid for the 2019-20 season. Part of the deal was that no promotions/releases will be held between Eraste and Toveed Divisi this season.

Between 1971/1972 and the season 2007/2009, the teams were unable to return to the Eerste Divisie. A team has been releasing Hoofdklasse from the Divisie at Eerstet since the 2009/2010 season. KNVB introduced the third and highest amateur level from 2010/2011 to 2015/2016, and Huffdclass clubs have been able to step into that new category.

The Hoofdklasse clubs can promote by obtaining a professional license before the 2008/2009 season. However, clubs can leave professional football if only one club goes bankrupt or loses their license.

The third tier, semi-professional tweed Divisie has automatic releases since the 2016/2017 season. Tweed Divisie clubs had to announce mid-season if they wanted to be eligible for the promotion. If only one of those clubs won the Tweed Divisie Championship, Eerste is a team returning from Divisie.

The UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying tournament is a soccer tournament that will be played from March 21 to March 2021 to determine the 25 national teams of UEFA members who will advance to the UEFA Euro 2020 final. The competition, coupled with the 2018–19 edition of the UEFA Nations League, gave countries a secondary path to qualify for the final tournament. For the first time since 1976, neither team will automatically qualify for the UEFA European Championship as a welcoming country.

55 national teams participated in the selection process, for the first time Kosovo participated. The draw was held on December 2, 2018, in the Convention Center of the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.

There will be no automatic selection berths, and 55 national UEFA national teams will have to compete for eligibility for a spot in the finals, with 12 national teams playing matches.  As the cities hosted by UEFA were appointed on September 27, before the UEFA Euro 2020 qualification, it is possible to fail to select national teams from the host cities in the final tournament.

With the commencement of the UEFA Nations League starting in 2018, the 201819 UEFA Nations League will be related to the UEFA Euro Qualifi, giving teams option inadvertently to qualify for the UEFA Euro 2020. The selection process will guarantee that at least one team from each of the previous Nations League season divisions will qualify for the final tournament.

Upon admission to Kosovo in UEFA on May 27, 2016, it was announced that after the end of the League season of the UEFA Nations League, 5 teams will be placed in 5 groups and the draw will be made on the basis of the 2018–19 UEFA Nations League rankings.

After the group phase of the selection, select play-offs will be held on March 2020 to determine the remaining 4 teams for the final tournament. Unlike the previous versions, participants in the play-offs will not be judged based on the outcome of the group episodes. Instead, 16 teams will be chosen based upon their pursuit in the 2018-19 UEFA Nations League. These teams will be separated into four routes, each of which will have four teams, and each team will qualify for the unqualified tournament.

If a group winner has already qualified through the qualifying group stage, they will be replaced by the next best-ranked team in the same league. However, if there are not enough non-qualified teams in the same league, the spot will go to the next best team in the overall ranking. However, group winners are not likely to face the top league teams.

Bayern's win over Schalke took them four points from their two matches, but it came after a disappointing draw in a screen-raiser against Hertha. The Reds obviously controlled the game in front of their own fans but could not convert their dominance to goals, so they will now look to secure the campaign's first home win. Statistically, the odds are not bad as Bayern have won their last four Bundesliga with Menzies 4-1.

It was a bad start to the season for Menz. After being drafted from the DFB Cup, the 05 players lost in their opening two league games, though they were certainly not inferior to any competition. Sandro Schwartz's men fought greatly against both Freiburg and Borussia Monchengladbach and even dominated the moves. However, weakness is already emerging at the closing stages of the games, with five of the last eight goals they have admitted to coming in the final 15 minutes.

Thiago returned to full training this week after Shaul was taken out of the match and Nico Cova expressed confidence about the Spaniard's chances of playing at his press conference on Thursday. Leon Goretzka has also returned to the grass with his teammates, though it has not yet been determined if he will be found. Fiat Arap will miss again due to illness.
