The Walking Dead occurs after the launch of the zombie apocalypse worldwide. Zombies, known as "walkers" in conversation, shake up living humans and other animals to eat; they are noisy and are attracted to sounds in different scenes, e.g. Human.
Season 1: Sheriff's Deputy Rick Grimes awakens from a coma to find the world awake. After befriending Morgan Joan, Rick encounters other survivors in Atlanta after finding his wife Laurie, his son Carl and his police partner and best friend Shane Walsh.
Season 2: Traveling from Atlanta, Rick's team took shelter at Harrell Green's farm when they searched for Carole's missing daughter, Sophia. Tensions between the survivors escalated when it was learned that Herschel had left friends and family in his dormitory with Sophia.
Season 3: Eight months after escaping from Hershel's farm, Rick's group found a prison, which they cleared of zombies to build their new home. He learns about Rick's gang in prison and creates conflicts between them. Rika's gang eventually raids Woodbury and the governor eventually kills Andrea and escapes.
Season 4: Months after the governor's attack, the deadly flu killed many people in prison. The governor found his ex-right-handed people and killed them, occupied their party, and destroyed the prison. Rick's party was forced to flee separately, but not before the murder of Herschel and the governor.
Season 5: Rick discovers that Terminus residents are engaging in narcissism, but the group reunites with Terminus. Some were seriously injured and kidnapped Grady, a hospital run by corrupt police and doctors. When the survivors recovered, they approached Aaron and invited them to join a fortified community called Alexandria, led by Danna Monroe.
Season 6: Residents of Alexandria relied more on Rick's group to secure the city. A group known as the Wolves uses a zombie army to attack Alexandria, losing many lives, including Dena and the entire Anderson family.
Season 7: Negan brutally killed Glenn and Abraham by instigating his rule in Alexandria. His actions first led Rick to submit, but the mission convinced him to fight back. They face a community called scavengers for help. Carroll and Morgan rally to the Kingdom leader, King Ezekiel, the leader of the Kingdom, and Maggie and Sasha to the Hilltop. Rosita and Eugene make a shot to kill Negan.
Season 8: Rick, Maggie, and Ezekiel have gathered their communities in the war against Negan and the rescuers. The losses were heavy on both sides and many of the soldiers in the Kingdom died. Alexandria falls under the attack of a savior and Carl is bitten by a walker. Before making himself clear, Carl convinced Rick to end the war and start a new society.
Season 9: Eighteen months after the fall of Negan, Rick proposes building a bridge to facilitate business, but this only adds to resentment. Rick apparently died when he destroyed the bridge to prevent Walker's attack. Six years later, his absence prompted a conversation in the community. [Source by wiki]
